Andrew Lavoie

Solution Architecture leader with a background in infrastructure, automation, and systems administration. I build tools and applications that bridge the gap between traditional operations and modern software development practices.

I started my career in the United States Air Force, where I built foundational expertise in Cisco networking (CCNP R/S, CCNA Security, CCDA), Linux administration, and enterprise systems. That foundation gave me a strong understanding of reliable, scalable architectures from the ground up.

From there, I shifted toward automation and infrastructure-as-code, applying software development methodologies to infrastructure challenges. I've worked with a range of vendors in this space while continuing to develop as a software engineer, with a focus on architecture and design. I also hold an M.S. in Cybersecurity.

When ChatGPT launched, I recognized a fundamental shift in how software is built and how enterprises operate on their data. Since then, I've focused on building LLM-based applications, integrating AI into development workflows, and experimenting with open-source models. Today, I work on business process transformation using AI alongside traditional engineering tools.

My current focus is on the architecture and engineering discipline behind AI applications — the patterns, abstractions, and practices that produce modular, performant, production-ready systems.

Outside of work, I spend my time cycling, lifting weights, shooting with my Fuji XT-5, and discovering new music. Most weekends you'll find me outside with my kids.
